Tony Chestnut is a Christchurch-based drag king who performed at a Pride event in March 2025. Following a Freedoms & Rights Coalition protest at the event, Tony called on the city council to issue an apology for failing to ensure the safety of the rainbow community — citing the protesters' use of a sound system without a permit as something that should have been addressed.
